Awards success for City and Hackney staff

A bumper 16 nominees from City and Hackney GP practices and the GP Confederation teams are among a raft of winners in the North Central London (NCL) and North East London (NEL) Primary Care Awards 2020.

The awards were organised via The East London Health and Care Partnership (ELHCP) in collaboration with the North London Partners in Health and Care and the NEL Faculty of the Royal College of General Practitioners’ (RCGP), to show gratitude and appreciation for those who deliver primary care.

Ninety nominations were forwarded by colleagues and leaders across NEL and NCL before the COVID-19 pandemic and it was decided that the unprecedented times called for all nominees to win awards in each of their categories.

The planned NCL and NEL Primary Care Awards ceremony, which was due to be held in May to recognise the winners has now been postponed. But all nominees and winners will be honoured at an event to be held later in the year.

Teddy Abrokwa, International GP Recruitment Project Manager for North East London (NEL), Primary Care Transformation Team said: “The NCL and NEL Primary Care Awards were overwhelmed with nominations showing gratitude and appreciation for colleagues in the NHS Primary Care communities in North East London and North Central London. These nominations have revealed the inspiring and remarkable work that is done minute-by-minute, day-by-day in general practice and the hugely important roles staff are playing caring for others in the local community.

“We know that all our NHS staff working across NEL and NCL are also deserving of an expression of gratitude, especially during these unprecedented times. Many congratulations to all award winners and heartfelt thanks from all of us in North East London and North Central London for your outstanding care!”
