Well Street Surgery

About Us

Well Street Surgery is a busy GP surgery with a list size of 15,000 patients in a multicultural area of East London. We are a large, friendly team, who offer a lot of support to our colleagues. We do this through our regular weekly nursing team meeting, a weekly whole team meeting, and a weekly journal club where clinicians meet to discuss new clinical guidelines or journal articles. There is also a communal subsidised lunch cooked fresh every day, providing an opportunity for the team to meet and socialise daily.

There are frequent opportunities for training and career development. Both practices are member of the same Primary Care Network and also members of the City and Hackney GP Confederation which are active in promoting and supporting training opportunities within the nursing profession.

The Position

The ideal candidate will already be competent in the majority of the treatment room practice nurse skills as listed in the job description, although it is recognised that candidates may not have experience in all of these areas depending on previous roles. Competence in child and adult immunisations, cervical cytology, anti-coagulation, venepuncture and wound care would be essential.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing several long term conditions, including asthma, COPD, hypertension and learning disabilities, and the role will primarily involve running LTC, Anti-Coagulation and Baby Immunisation clinics, as well as liaising with the contract manager to manage patient lists and ensure QOF targets are met.

The Offer

The position is ideally working 37.5 hours per week, however we are open to flexible working for the right candidate. This may include for example working condensed hours over a shorter number of days or working part-time hours rather than full time hours.

The annual salary is in the region of £43,152.37, however this is dependent on skills and experience.

If you would like further information regarding the role or would like an informal visit, please do not hesitate to contact Rey Felek (Practice Manager) on 0208 525 7303
